You might be right. In a desperate world food is king. Food security is even bigger. How do you propose to buy food security?????

How do you buy productive land????? With ten thousand head of cattle??? Day to day transactions may be denominated by some other 'currency' but at some point the transaction will be too big for 'labour' or 'a clutch of chickens'.

If things get that bad buying real estate with gold might be one of the few ways to transact.
