True, but a key to speed is the weight of what you are pulling. Lithium is the 3rd element in the periodic table - only helium and hydrogen are lighter elements. So in totality is you are going to produce a battery it needs to be light - meaning higher density - whilst having good voltage and watt release to pull the vehicle weight. There is a reason lithium is used in batteries, in combination with other minerals, and weight is one, and the important other is potential for energy density per kg of battery material (as energy density contributes to a less weighter battery) in achieving speed etc.

Ultimately as per my previous post - the other thing is as technology progress shows, things get smaller rather than larger, so will be interesting how R&D works out in that category. But starting off with a light element, and one that can achieve density is a much better start when working out changes in battery configuration and inputs.

So if the author to this thread had an actual idea of chemistry towards a good downramp about lithium, maybe they should have yabbered hydrogen - on hydrogen my view is explained at Section 7 of this post and hydrogen has too many issues at this stage - Post #:56535539

    All IMO
