Perhaps when Nandan recently made reference to Splitit acquiring other businesses, troubled BNPLs is what he meant. It is certainly not outside the realms of possibility, and in some instances, it may make sense. Working with big banks to shift BNPL customers onto a credit card-based payment plan as their original credit providers go bust or fall victim to increased regulation.
It would of course depend on the overall quality of customers, and it could be that only those who qualify for bank-issued credit could transfer to the Splitit system for the remainder of their loan duration.
Splitit management likely have something far better in mind, but just a thought.
