Since when does the Government of the day just get its legislation through the Parliament, and in particular, the Senate?

If that were the case, we would have an ETS right now.

The reality is you need independent, green or opposition support to get anything through, and even then sometimes bills do not pass.

When an election is won, and legislation is through both houses of parliament, then we can start talking turkey on this issue. And with polls going against Labor, a hung parliament, or even a Liberal victory is looking more likely. > So consider that in relation to the 'proposed' changes.

Until then, it is all media hype.
