the good thing about this strategy is they are putting a foothold on other projects without spending much to do so (just US$2.5m option premium) at the present time. and those funds are all going into the continued development/due diligence of the asset and not just into some vendor's pocket.
By the time real funds are required to take the Projects to the next level, SFX will be generating significant cash from Thunderbird operations.
I think once everyone gets over the usual knee-jerk reaction to a raise, they'll see this is just very good management.
