I will be voting for Rudd and hopefully the Australian people will give him a parliament which he can work with. Not one that opposed his most of the governments mandate policy program. Opposing everything and then complaining people have done nothing its spoiled brat behaviour. The few things that failed were the things they let through, goes to show what poor judges the mad monk and his cronies are.
The Rudd governments stimulus was key in keeping Australia out of recession , saved a generation of Australians from the long term unemployed scrap heap.I saw how people were permanently damaged by the last two recessions , it was worth the price.
Yes there was mistakes made and money wasted but it had to be done quickly and the risk of under spending couldn't be taken , so they over spent , good government, putting its most vunerable citizens first.
We now have a workforce ready to go to take advantage as we come out of the global recession , we don't have masses of people to re-employ and re-train with all the costs associated with that , which small business would have coped the worst of.
As for debt , the number sounds big but compared to GDP its around 10% , could you afford a $10,000 loan if you made a $100,000 a year and had no other debt???????????
Abbott in the same circumstances would have let unemployment rise and stood back as the low end of the work force (which had little protection under serf choice) got the sack left right and centre , then he would have said its not my fault were in a global recession. His mates at the big end of town would have took the razor gang to their work forces and would have screwed more hours for no pay saying times are tough.
I will never vote for the Libs whilst the neo con far right of the party who are hell bent in turning us into the USA are in control. Come back to the centre find a social concious and I might change my mind.
