"They can't announce anything if no major progress has been made." Of course they can, public companies do it all the time (after all they are public, they raise funds from the public, there are different expectations on them than on private companies). And surely the company has made some progress in some aspect of their work. The alternative is that they have been sitting around, twiddling their thumbs. Besides, as I keep saying, I am not even asking for actual progress, just asking for an update of when they expect progress. Corporates being strong silent and stoic haven't been kosher for yonks.

Also for David Christensen to say "the backdrop to all this is a set of increasingly favourable conditions in the graphite market in terms of demand, price and security of supply concerns. All these factors make our project more favourable." is just selective whitewashing. Everyone knows that the mining sector is currently being whacked by spiralling costs and existential threats from labour, talent and materials shortages. I don't follow the graphite price but I also understand that in recent months it has zigged instead of zagged which throws the numbers for prospective developers like Renascor out of kilter.

Pilbara Minerals put out updated timelines as soon as their permitting came through. Let's see how Allkem handles it when the permitting for their James Bay project comes through (they have actually already flagged that they will update the market on their timelines on getting permitted). Renascor should have expectations of being in the ranks of PLS and AKE but they need to start behaving as if they deserve to be there imo.
