I have been posting on HC for over 10 years. In that time I have occasionally used the ignore button but often as not let everyone out of the box after a while.

However, I recently made the decision to be very liberal and quick to put low quality posters (i.e. unpleasant) on to ignore... and leave them there on a permanent basis.

Once upon a time HC was an influential stock forum. The readership was larger and people were influenced by positive or negative comment... not anymore ... the little blue bird is where all the pumpers are. I have absolutely no qualms in ignoring nonsense and I do not have any fears they might have some influence.

The only value in HC these days is people sharing their honest and INFORMED opinions.... if that means I have an outsized ignore list in order to only see genuinely held opinions that is the way it has to be.
