Wonder what the AISC/t of Vanadium recovered will cost.
At 0.05% Vanadium that's 50g of Vanadium/ Mt.
$32.27-44.78/kg V (80% Ferro Vanadium) in Rotterdam
So 50g is worth ~ $ 1.61 if the AISC of extraction are <$1.61/50g?
The question is if they mine for titanium oxide (8.4%) at a AISC less than the value of the titanium mines, will the Vanadium be extracted as a negative AISC [by-product of titanium mining instead]?
The other question to ask if the NZ government will allow a hot sulphuric acid extraction plant to be built there (i.e. enviro feasibility) not to mention 3.2Bt of sand being removed, processed and assuming they back fill, will the sand be contaminated?
