I think he has forgotten that a large % of the Australian electorate are shareholders in mining compannies (either directly or more often via superannuation funds).
Its ironic to see Rudd championing superannuation (via increases in compulsory superannuation contributions to 12%) and yet ignoring that his RSPT will have a negative effect the value of many super funds.
Doesn't he realise many Australians keep a weather eye on their super fund performance..and hate any govt. changes that affect their nest egg?
