    Dear Mr Prime Minister,

Like you, I am a Queenslander and in the last election both myself and my peers took a chance on you and your Labor Team to bring the balance back into the country's political scene.

Kevin, I am a battler. I work hard to support my family and in juggling the family budget I set about investing my money (on good advice) in the growth of the resources sector, in small to mid cap company shares mainly in QUEENSLAND's COAL SEAM GAS stocks. Coal Seam GAS is an emerging industry in QUEENSLAND which is instrumental in creating JOBS, Paying down QLD debt and helping to put YOUR STATE on the world stage.

I started my investments BEFORE the global financial crisis and have suffered with a few years of ups and downs however just when the economy is starting its recovery amidst the fear in EUROPE, from out of nowhere you propose an extra TAX which slaps COAL SEAM GAS square on the face.

COAL SEAM GAS projects require HUGE amounts of capital to get off the ground and have suffered as a result. the POISON from your tax proposal is the uncertainty now gripping the COAL SEAM GAS sector. The detail and any changes, deliberations and time all of this takes is poisoning MY share prices and affects REAL WORKING FAMILIES who just want a FAIR GO!

WE ARE NOT THE RICH !!!!

Good companies distribute their wealth to working Australians in the form of CAPITAL GROWTH from Share rises and Dividends -- To WORKING FAMILIES LIKE ME.

Aside from implications of a less competitive Australia, logical fallacies on targeting just one sector (The banks are making Super Profits of their own) and the obvious problems associated with punishing productivity (Look at the state of GREECE for an extreme example) this TAX is HITTING THE HIP POCKET OF WOKING FAMILIES and in doing so, does NOT tax the rich and DOES not make things as level a playing field as you originally intended. Rather it is a simplistic solution which while seemed like a good idea initially does come with side affects when thought through.

I know it is hard politically for you to change your mind on this tax, but if there is some way you can dress it up to get rid of it whilst saving face - you will get my vote!! If you persist I simply can't vote you back in.

Tough decisions are one thing but it takes a tougher Prime Minister to admit his mistake citing more professional advice on the issue and to leave the way CLEAR for Queensland's Coal Seam Gas industry to get off the ground as per their long term plans.

I don't email my politicians. Normally I leave them to it but this issue has hit me HARD and as much as I DON'T EXCPECT A REPLY (I'm not the CEO of BHP - just an ORDINARY VOTING AUSSIE), I would certainly appreciate one.

    ------------------------------

    Some things to note:

    a) I didn't vote for him but some of my family did despite my protests (I told him I did to make him feel good - lol)

    b) Even if he backflips on the tax, Meh I'm not voting for him anyway - lol!!
