Not every independence movement in the world is just some US controlled plot. Like the break up of Yugoslavia, several of the states that made up that bloc said they wanted out, Serbia said no, then we had war.
EXACTLY the same scenario in Ukraine. Ukraine says we want nothing more to do with Putin and his rubbish 'system', Putin says no, now we have war again. No US controlled plot here either.
Ukrainians, like Croatians, Slovenians, Estonians, Lithuanians, Czechoslovakians, Poles, Latvians, Hungarians (at that time, no more under Orban) and the list goes on all said they wanted their independence because they wanted it, not because the US said so.
