Not sure about the welfare recipients comment, I think Australians in general overblow/are very insensitive/look down on people who don't have jobs. But that's okay, I moved to Canada where we don't do that.
Completely agree regarding crushing their consumption. I remember 2008 when I went to the Gold Coast and the most gorgeous strippers in the world stooped to accepting coins - COINS - LOL. Ahhhhh those were the days. Oh well, Montreal isn't so bad either but money doesn't travel as far on those French-Canadian accents.
Australia needs to have a economic scythe that causes those arrogant $400k salary couples to realize their lives and first-world problems aren't important.
