Why ?
In case you haven't noticed, ICE are heading for the history books. That said , low emissions are influencing the ones being built now so it is totally relevant to include current and new technology.
Have a look at the thread I started about JCB and their hydrogen ICE developments. Very interesting.
Electronics in cars ? Where have you been for the last 20 years ?
Sacrificed durability ? Cars do more kilometers now than they've ever done. Better metallurgy , better fuels, better oils, better manufacturing techniques etc. I suggest you follow the ev industry , in particular Tesla, to see how they are revolutionizing the industry
for almost the first time since Henry Ford.
Large single castings etc. It took a maverick from outside the industry to do it and now everyone is copying it.
Look up Sandy Munro on youtube. I thin you'll find it very interesting.
Why don't we build hand made cars here ?
We do actually. Hot rods literally from the ground up. You would be very surprised what clever work people are doing in sheds all over Australia.
Why don't we build bespoke luxury cars here ? Because there is no market for such an expensive car in Australia.
That said, follow the story of Mate Rimac. Started a revolutionary car company in Croatia from nothing when he was 19. In a country that didn't build cars at all.
A real success story. And he's still only 34.
