Yes it’s true they shouldn’t have said they won’t raise rates until 2024. But also, people should be aware that the RBA, or anyone for that matter, don’t know the future, don’t have a crystal ball, and are just speculating at best with what information they have at the time of comment. When I hear how people should take financial advice, it should be from your own personal financial adviser in relation to your own personal set of circumstances. Not from general statements from the head of the RBA. Yes he shouldn’t have said it. But people that acted on it like it was gospel…. That’s their own fault.
