CLDH, do you run a trading business or have you received a private ruling from the ATO being a trader?
I work as an accountant, just thought I'd let you know, if you are not a trader then your losses are capital losses.
Selling your shares for the loss and buying them back soon after is called a wash sale and gets caught under the Tax office anti fraud laws.
That's if you get audited that is.
If you don't then all good :)
