Its definitely a major event in itself and not a part of a dying or a resurrection - unless its occurrence needs to be reasoned or rationalised that is.
Light is light, but some associate it to warmth, vision, clarity, growth, synthesis etc...but they are all singular things as well, despite the notion of rationalising why.
About the thing many call an NDE (or is it a resurrection...or a life-pause... or indeed, is it a hundred years of another time/space clock from another different plane that we live out and return from? The whole idea is seed for fiction no doubt).
Well, some of us come back with sudden talents that we never had, or other have tried to do something mentally for decades that they suddenly master after the experience. It also provides a nice backdrop for earthly pain...a meditation to bathe in when times are low, that would otherwise not be a given insight. It has many effects, best spoken of in a general sense, so as not to ostracise ones self. So you dont hear many people talking about it, but it is more of religious experience...more of a lasting spiritual epiphany than anything you could read or guess was imaginable or creat-able. Suddenly, few thing matter apart from experiencing a new side to life itself, from a zen aspect..a here and now approach...an omni-existence...an omnipresence at times.
