The golbal question which is being asked now, and particularly by the 3rd World is:

Has the US ideology reached its shelf life and is China's the alternative?

China has taken 60% of its population out of abject poverty in a generation using
the mix of State Capitalism & Private enterprise.....no freedom/liberties here;
just do it or else.

Forget the politics of it........its where the rubber meets the ground economically
that matters, IMO. for the poor masses.

IMO, Russia's alliance with China (Russia is reverting to State Capitalism
following the firesale of its State Assets in the early 1990s) and as such it has
now more in common with China than differences.) has a symbiosis ...........
its called a defence against America........China has the lollies and Russia has the Nukes.

America realises this hence this Proxy (US vs Russia) war.

its fine to spruik Western middle class values such as freedom (its actually Liberty)
representative democracy and "free markets" but in BRICS and the 3rd World these
are not real pressing issues.....just hand to mouth existence. Of course when purists look at the
USA, they find difficulty in seeing free markets, real democracy or freedom simply because
the US Military/Industrial complex does not like any of the above.

The Military is an authoritarian bureaucratic structure (nothing democratic about it)
as is also corporations!

Since Reganomics,(Mid 1980s) the US has produced a homeless/poor class which in practice
contradicts its ideology and one does not have to be a forensic social scientist to
notice that. Just have a look at poverty in Oakland (a spit away from Silicon Valley)
or North Detroit or parts of Chicago to realise that for millions, the touted "American Dream"
is really an "American Nightmare"........the squaller/drug addiction is absolutely appalling.

If you believe that Society/social conditioning primarly makes the person, then you have to
admit that there is something fundamentally wrong with American society. Its sheer scale
of homelessness, drug addiction, poverty (44 Million on food stamps) domestic violence/
gun violence is evidence of that.

But if we latch-on to the USA because it has the most powerful Armed Forces in the world,
then that says alot about Aus and our values and insecurities, IMO.

Dont Kid yourself, this is a proxy US/Russia war with Uncle Sam having China in its
long term hairlines. IMO, this Ukraine -Russia war wont lapse into a Nuke War for the
same reason that there was not a Nuke War with the USSR pre 1991 and again, IMO,
there wont be a US/China Nuke War for similar reasons ...................because of "MAD"
