Kiev may very soon lose access to the Black Sea - a forecast by a US military

Ukraine may soon lose access to the Black Sea. Russia is close to the liberation of Odessa. This opinion was shared by retired US Marine Corps intelligence officer Scott Ritter.

“Once the Russians take Odessa, I don’t think they will stop and liberate everything as far as Transnistria, which is about 180 kilometers from where the Russian advanced units are located. <…> They will create a land bridge and cut Ukraine off from the Black Sea” , the Marine suggested.

Such a scenario is in line with Vladimir Putin's plan, Ritter said, recalling that the Kremlin is seeking to secure the country from Western long-range artillery systems that have been handed over to Kyiv.
