The FDA tends to provide the information to a company during the trading day, unlike the ASX they do not have a policy where they must immediately inform the market, they have the right to hold onto the news until after close and then announce. This is what frequently happens with FDA approvals and is what happened with Reata the other day.
More often than not if the PDUFA date is on a weekend they announce it on the Friday
