Its All About the Science

Yesterday, another ASX bio-tech that I hold received FDA approval after a successful Phase 3 trial sponsored by a major US bio-company.Of course, IMU and the other company do not treat the same medical conditions.

Imugene (IMU) focuses onimmunotherapies that can suppress cancer, while the other treats a complex and rare neurodevelopmental disorder.

They also differ in that Imugene
has a massive market, while the other falls into the category of a ‘rare disease’.

So why do I highlight the
success of this other bio-tech when they are seemingly so different to IMU?

Well, I have been invested in
both, at different levels of exposure, for a long time. In both, I continued to build my holding, over time, for one key reason ... the science.

Imugene continues to demonstrate trial success (safety and efficacy) across each of it trials. It is ‘the science’ that will determine its success (or failure), not its current market cap or share price. Believe me, this other bio-tech suffered at the hands of a fickle market, even while demonstrating success through the Phase 2 trials. Does this sound familiar?

Personally, I will hold IMU because of the science, and of course the amazing team, regardless of the way the ‘market movers’ bounce the share price around.

I know it can be hard holding when the share price doesn’t seem to reflect the achievements of the company(and there are many). And I know everyone’s situation is not the same (we are not all in the same boat). So, I just thought it worth pointing out on a Sunday morning that if we can ignore the ‘noise’, and focus on what will really deliver success, we all may benefit in the long run.

The first deal, or major trial breakthrough, could drop this year. Then things will get very interesting.
