just another thought

telstra could out sell the NBN
just remember they already have the pipes
it will always take the NBN longer to build connections
all tls would have to do is see where the NBN is building and build their own connections first
combined with a marketing campaign.
this would give tls a first mover advantage

if the NBN chose an area where the take up rates are likely to be low then telstra wouldn't bother competing in those areas

in addition there are 1.4bn shareholders so about 5% of the population that wouldn't go on the NBN for sure.
