Unusual optics here, I don’t know what to make of it. When was the last time a CEO fronted one of these paid promo interviews with a deputy in tow? Are we in fact witnessing the groundwork being done for a transitioning of Cris Moreno into the primary CEO role, with Francis Wedin perhaps retiring to the board in a founder/governance-only role? I can’t imagine Rezos giving up the chairmanship without a fight and I can’t see Wedin simply as a regular director and nothing more. Might be nothing in it, but it just strikes me as unusual to see this tag teaming, bearing in mind one (or both) of them should imo be in Europe right now with the passing of the EU legislation and everything else that is going on, not sitting together in a studio in Aus with Sonia Madigan.
I also noted from a recent media report that it described Francis Wedin as (loosely quoted) “Perth-based despite relocating briefly to the UK last year”. From memory, Vulcan paid quite a lot of additional costs and allowances for Wedin’s relocation last year which was justified as necessary to getting him located closer to the project. What happened? Why is he back based in Pointless Perth again so soon?
