commsec uses either chi-x or asx dep on how its software works out which is cheaper at the time. Openmarket/Marketech uses chi-x exclusively. I think (but don't quote me) that pepperstone uses chi-x.

Interesting to note that commsec gets data from different places EG, your watchlist could come from chi-x and the quotes page mostly comes from asx. odd but that's how they do it. It might be that chi-x doesn't have some of the info that asx has.

I know what you mean about missing orders. One of my orders this morning from front of queue got skipped using commsec this morning too.

I haven't seen a broker that allows you to define which clearing system you use, AFAIK it's all done in their backend software.

If you haven't tried marketech, they're pretty good as a purely trading platform. Very different from say commsec but also a lot cheaper to trade.
