So while most other lithium stocks appear to have shed some of their market cap SYA appears to be holding on or actually have gained over the same timeframe.
That 10% short has actually made us resistant. It occured before this volatility occurred and the shorts have likely covered some of their positions which has helped keep our supports more solid.
While id love to continue to see our aggregated shorts drop off on shortman. The best position to see it would be a significant increase on the back of no share price retracement. The reason being, if bigger and bigger positions are taken short and we see no price fall. They will have to cover at some point. An if that hasnt happened, any big price moving announcement would more than likely trigger a short squeeze.
SYA has a lot of news flow this year relative to its peers. Actually that much so that I hope management can juggle it all. Some other lithium explorers/hopefuls will struggle over the next 6/12M as others have pointed out via financing becoming quite rigid with the banking sector at present. Not to also mention the higher interest rates meaning these same Explorers need to be very careful about the capex they sign up for. If they sign up for a high capex and the Li market tanks like in 2017/2018 they will likely be another Altura in the making. SYA no debt and up and running. Let the cashflow come in. Cashflow is king. An should another storm brew, we might be able to poach some quality ourself should the opportunity arise.
Personally I hope SYA really knuckle down on NAL and its production over the next year while market volatility is high. If we can get secure offtakes between now and first shipment I will sleep like a log and have not even the slights concern.
SYA great position at present. Really hope small holders can weather this cost of living rubbish without selling out to free up cash. This will have re-rated before same time next year. I have no doubt in my mind on that point.
