The main issue is that South Africa appears to align itself with China and Russia much more then with the West.

I don't think either Europe or the US would see South African production of critical minerals as a save diversification from Russia or China. Unfortunately that could really hit Vanadium.

That takes nothing away from VR8 which is IMO the best undeveloped Vanadium project in the world, but if I was a European company looking to secure Vanadium supply incase of a trade war with China and Russia (looking more and more likely and already happening in many ways) South Africa wouldn't be a preferred option.
