I agree totally with your comments and of course sanctions are designed to ultimately control Iran (and her assetts) more. However, having spent considerable time in Iran and knowing so many wonderful people there I cannot contemplate it being bombed. Too many negative consequences all around.
Therefore I am hopeful sanctions can break the regime - for I also know SO SO many people in Iran who are hoping they DO eventuate IF they save the country from war and bring about regime change. People are tired there - very tired. Not money wise.
Of course long sanctions will cause pain for everyone but the regime itself. So here is hoping regime change does come - and soon! That allows for gradual change in the right direction for all Iranians. Especially the youth. And also that change involves the US not putting in a stupid puppet govt like they currently back in almost every other middle eastern nation.
Always one to hope!
