re: Ann: Well workover program expanded by 5 ... I have been trying to work out why they want to refurb the old wells.
Unfortunately I have come to a conclusion that means the company is putting the best possible spin on an expensive situation. We know that Oman 2-20 has been underperforming in a big way.
Seemingly the company has been doing nothing for many months. Now the water disposal problem has been solved, we are seeing some action.

The only sensible reason that I can see that matches this property is that the 50-60 year old wells have deteriorated to the point where the casing has now failed. This is very common in old wells. This can lead to massive flows of water from one aquifer to another, oil and gas mixing contaminating good quality ground water, and water filling up the gas reserve with water.

It would near impossible to pump out water from one well, while it is being filled by a massive aquifer that is leaking through a failed casing nearby.
You will never refloat the titanic by turning on the bilge pumps.

Remediating these wells may explain a lot of things.
Poor production, may never be solved without repairing the failed casings in old wells.

I have to admit what great spin on an expensive problem.
