No real transparency provided by BA/SE on the BOO/BOOT use - quite the opposite. Shareholders were materially misled by them on this issue.
Nonetheless the Indonesians sorted it by not exercising the option and shutting EWC out of the electricity market. Now the original plant and the extension have no value unless the plant gets switched on. I therefore think the payment to EWC will be nominal, if not nil. After all EWC has no funds to maintain it, or meet any regulatory requirements. I cannot imagine the sale of the plant and the burning down of Jeneponto are linked. Four days is a bit tight to conclude a SPA.
Now PLN are essentially confirmed as the monopsony buyer for gas on Sengkang and have a brownfield site for expansion.
