I guess there are many indirect ways govt policy can reduce debt though and contribute to savings, i.e less taxes, smaller govt, ditch the RBA and create a national bank that lends at the same rate to banks and the people. And quite frankly small business is the patsy in the Australian economy with all the benefits to workers these days. I like Abbott's policy of phasing out some govt workers as they retire but the parental leave thing is ridiculous.
