Its simple. People get duped. As this is a specialised area, it is easy to have a very asymmetrical distribution of knowledge and understanding.
The duping is on two fronts: finance and science.

This is a "subjective" science, so theres lots of room to move if you want to start spinning. Look at the BS about compartmentalisation and the failures of Mitsui and Beach wells. (if you look at those wells in relation to the isopach map above, they are both in areas where the Kingia thins out). They were trying to "spook" holders into believing we could get dry holes in the Lockyer Field.

When it comes to finance and commercialisation, again it is a field where those in the know get a good feel for whats what (look at the video of CE and his sidekick, a current NED of NWE) and they keep it to themselves as it suits them.

So if you dont really know:
    • how big it is, and
    • what it could be worth, and
    • have a good understanding of the risk attached...
you are ripe for the picking, by the guys in the know. They use market makers, brokers, they churn stock in sophisticated ways, marketing campaigns, every trick under the sun - including shills on HC - and hoodwink people to get their shares.

Not saying i know everything. Im still taking a punt. But in my mind it is a calculated and educated one. And I know we have been screwed from way back. I was saying it would be $400M MC based on 1.2 TCF case, using rudimentary and outdated metrics. Its now looking like 2.4-3.4 TCF and my gut says a real value should be in the 1-2B range - for Lockyer alone. Make no mistake about it theres as shitload of gas there (pardon the pun). It sickens me to think we'
ve been blatantly lied to and people have played us. A pox on them.

And the other "problem" with Lockyer? It is so damned big, that SH are too scared to believe the numbers.
