    ??...theres no power... Invariably followed by civil unrest and rioting, potholes are a metaphor for ill maintained and poorly fed Power infrastructure.
    The government, being keen on staying in government, and not out with the peasants and general unwashed. Have decreed the rig is to drill for gas to generate electricity and save their sorry collective ass from an angry mob brandishing pitchforks.

    That kind of potholes... Aimho.
