If Wyloo was simply trying to get a flip on their holding imo they would have tried a time when everything looked rosy, not when the sp was in the doldrums, and furthermore to assume BHP would make a counteroffer would have been highly risky.
But as you say whatever the problem, the past indicates firmly that for the northern operations at least production goes on regardless, and in fact is highly lucrative.
No reason imo to believe that there is anything radically different about Long and Durkin now than in the past (nor the GM between when they start mining it) and nothing a bit better mine planning and some perhaps ST stockpiling can’t address.
Can’t say much about Cassini, as it has no history. The DFS isn’t very reassuring in that it gives no indication of anything more than scant assaying for arsenic, however I would find it incredible that with all the exploration expenditure on Cassini that there wasn’t in fact a large number of assays for arsenic. I am no geologist or mining person but with it known as a tricky issue in other mines in the district (paper on addressing it at Mittel) could any competent team have neglected a good few checks for it?
It’s Cassini that has me worried, worried about the unknown. there had better be some clarity on Tuesday.
