I take your point Henster, but on the other hand, everyone wants to blame the Govt for everything from TLS management incompetence to a dose of the pox.

When you look at the broader picture, the present mob has been out of office for 12 years before coming back. It is inevitable that their enthusiasm for fixing things is going to get the better of them in some cases and they will make some errors of judgement.

You can take the "shock horror" approach to what many see as screw-ups, such as the insulation and school hall building issues, or you can recognise that even though they went a bit crazy, the first priority was to get the money out there to enable us to glide over the canyon of the GFC while every other country crashed and burned in the chasm.

If you waited to get it perfect, we might have 11% unemployment and a ASX of around 3000 points by now . Even the money that was "wasted" still did some good as it lubricated the cashregisters... it all went into someone's pocket to spend.

As far as TLS and the mining industry are concerned, I'm in favour of looking after the best interests of all Australians. There is a lot of misrepresentation and static about what the mining tax is really all about, you know.

I would love to see TLS up around $30+ but they won't get there by hitting their customers over the head. That is so 1970s. Heck, if Ralph Norris and Wal King were appointed joint CEOs I would be selling my grandmother to buy shares.
