Peter Cook has waged war on speculators many times. He believes speculators manipulate the share price and this supposedly upsets him.

Could Peter - in all his wisdom - think that there is going to be some trading halt news in the near future (GSK takeover? LANI & HRV deal?) and he wants the speculators to sell their shares, and leave just the good old faithful to pick up the spoils. So he tells the market there is nothing to look forward to. Twisted logic i know, but he has remarkable commercial ineptitude.
