He abandoned his position Feb 21.

He was removed via vote on article 110 of the Ukrainian constitution Feb 22.

He arrived in Russia with Putins help Feb 24.

Just because he failed to reach Russia immediately after he abandoned his position does not mean he wasn’t trying.

If anything, by Putin helping him flee, it was a Putin controlled coup, not a US one. It was the abandonment of the position of president that led to the change in government, not the protests, he was still in power until he left it on his own. He simply could’ve stayed and stayed president. But he didn’t.
