For what it is worth, I asked (via email) Drona why he didn't they wait to get the result of their final regional dealings before getting rid of the staff.

He came back to me, and said that these dealings are advanced enough that he didn't think he would need these scientific brains to stay past the end of the month. He also said that should he need them to stay longer, they agreed to stick around on a consulting basis.

I tried to know more about these regional deals, but he didn't share anything about them. The only thing he said was the scale (and impact on sp) would be very limited, compared to the global deals he was working on.

Re the comments on getting him out of the board, I think I will do so - mainly because I have lost a lot, and also for the communication/disclosure side of things. That said:
1- if their star product got outdated even before getting launched, there is not much that could have been done...
2- and if a global pharma was in the running until a few days before the announcement, I don't see how Drona could have come out in December and informed the market of potential issues.
... so the blame should, at least, be shared with JC who has been running the show forever. Anyway, it is all irrelevant now, and I guess the only slim chance to get something positive happening is this regional deal.
