true - there are two ETF's l am looking at IVV and UMAX US market based.
I am using the later in uncertain times, hopefully to give me a stable (mostly tax free - l hope) quarterly income.
capital gain is very limited but so too capital loss. l think it's a an alternative to listed Bonds.
re actual normal index funds - l reckon if you never pay for a brokers report, don't sell anything (less tax), cannot read a profit and loss, want to hand something down to the next generation index funds are the way to go. every company has a life span, index funds don't.
