this is the bit that I took exception to:

Lets break it down a bit: "An unprofitable Rare Earth deposit"
First of all IXR is not in production yet and with increasing global demand for REEs growing and set to grow exponentially over the next 10 years plus lets not forget that it takes many years to bring on new supply, I think if you look at any long term supply and demand curves selling prices with constrained supply results in higher selling prices. Yes current selling prices are low but that is just a short term blip and is unlikely to last much longer given constrained supply. Who knows whether China is deliberately allowing more supply onto the world market in the short term to dissuade investment elsewhere. China has used supply of REs as a bargaining tool in the past.

Yep Africa is higher in the risk department but life and business does go on in Africa and Uganda has had very stable government for the past 35 years. I lived and worked in mining in 4 African countries over a period of 13 years and somehow am alive to tell the tale. Truth is its a great place to live. Uganda has also stated that they wish to develop a mining industry in Uganda. IXR's directors have regularly spoken about the fantastic support they receive in Uganda at the Federal level and more recently when they engaged with over 3,800 people in the Makuutu area who will be affected by mining operations. IXR will be a very long life asset and lead to the creation of many many jobs in the rural areas that they operate. IXR has stated this wont be a fly in fly out operation but will develop the skills in the local community. IMHO they are going about the development of a long life mine in Uganda in a very good way.

WOW WOW WOW !!! I have to admit you have me here. In fact I will immediately write to BHP, RIO, PLS, MIN etc etc plus all the mining ministers in WA, NT and QLD to tell them that mining in a tropical area is fraught with danger. Imagine the outrage when the citizens of Port Hedlund hear that living in a tropical area is extremely risky. .........I could really go on and on here.

Mate dont take my word for it Re: Mining Rare Earths in tropical locations and the significant hurdles this creates.

Speak to an independent REE metallurgist.
