Yep, and it is the 'exact type' that AI will assist someone to reproduce. A lot of 'impossible' things have fallen to advances in neural networks in the past 24 months. Who knows what the next 24 months will bring.

With regard to the molecule; everyone knows the inputs and everyone knows the output; you can purchase Bene's product and look at it to your heart's content. What no one but Bene knows is the process. However... there's probably more than one way to produce the Bene product, and as you say there are already a bunch of similars around so the general process to getting to a close molecule is well known. It's fairly safe to assume that Bene is not using some supernatural process to develop its molecule, so the individual components aren't unknowably novel in themselves. I'm no chemist, but getting to the exact molecule in the past would likely have required so much trial and error as to be prohibitive. Increasingly, the sample space for trial can be reduced by AI, bringing both the time and cost of process development down by orders of magnitude.

So, the previously impossible must be considered possible. And if it is possible then we need to consider it as a reasonable risk.

No one with the smarts to do the reproduction is going to just raise their hand and say 'hey, we want to start trials too'! Why do that when PAR shareholders and board appear to be quite happy to fund that expense to prove the molecule works in humans? Heck, we even seem to be willing to stuff around being guinea pigs while the FDA figures out what they want for DMOAD (and the academics in these agencies have all the time in the world to do that as they don't have any concerns about shareholder funds - I should know, I used to work in the field).

Not only that, we seem happy to go it alone, leaving our pants well and truely down for the patent fights Moz alludes to if an exact match is obtained! What a steal!

Patent fights are for the big boys, which is another reason we should do a deal with BP sooner rather than later. So I agree with many others here re getting a deal done rather than continually dangling it as a carrot. Of course I also want the shorters to be squeezed so hard they start producing diamonds... but that's another matter entirely.
