It's because people a little less scrupulous than you have been misusing it.
Imagine the crew who use twitter and Tic toc to promote every bit of trash they have bought, then promote it to their cabal and then followers calling it a multi bagger. It's was just an expansion of people like Michael Clarke and several film stars promoting crypto. Plus Gamestop etc.
If "a fool and his (her) money are soon parted a few protections even cosmetic ones ned to be applied.
There's even a decent amount of exuberance here.
All IMVHO.
