A little Gem...
It should be very obvious, that at this point in time, fundamentally ECT is in a very sound position, and the company is well placed to continue to move forward and do the the necessary work, to place itself in an even stronger position to be able to capitalize on a number of opportunities.
BM - The Coldry Plant ( Phase 1 ) - takes on a greater level of significance and priority, wrt Costs, scalability, efficiency. The next quarterly may touch on relevant points.
BM - Viridian Hydrogen Demonstration plant ( Phase 2 ) - specific focus on the pyrolysis kiln and syngas harvester and unlocking 6M dollars of recurring revenue from Char and Syngas.
LV - Viridian Hydrogen Project - focus on Long term lignite Supply
LV - HECS Consortium - 2.35 Billion Dollar commercial Demonstration Phase -
Planning to produce between 30,000 to 40,000 tonnes of H2 per annum, and scaling up to potentially produce 225,000 tonnes per annum, using a gasification process.
Note : Prior to Gasification, Lignite needs to be dried.
Thus equating to a minimum of 80,000 tonnes and scaling up to 450,000 tonnes of lignite drying per annum. ( 10X BM phase )
Subject to commercial agreements and meeting the required environmental permits and approvals, it is expected hydrogen production will commence in the late 2020’s.

*****Now it gets serious - the Vertical Mill system ( adopted by Kawasaki ) to dry the Lignite prior to gasification during the Pilot phase won't cut it for Large scale Commercial production due to High drying temps, emmissions intensity and waste heat.*****
A Large scale lignite drying system, will at the very least, be required to operate at low temp, be efficient and safe. ....Not just in my opinion btw....
"The company continues to prepare its COLDry demonstration facility for any vendor selection process for relevant projects, including HECS"
And the planning is already underway.
"These results allow us to affirm COLDry as a relevant drying process for downstream gasification.
Ashley Moore, ECT's Group Engineer, commented:
"The early results from this study indicate almost 100% gasification of incoming materials, indicating the highly reactive nature of COLDry processed lignite"
