Hi @Robbie1 can you please post this sort of shorter data for us on this coming Tuesday and Wednesday.


I believe the 31st March end of day data showed approx 1.01% of PAR being shorted, I would like to see how this tracks on the said days (Tues and Wed) to obtain a rough idea of how much of the last few trading days were as a result of shorter action.


At one stage in the past (see your post below) we were as high as 4% plus.


Will be interesting to see this, I believe there is approx lag of 2 to 3 business days for this data to show up

After the announcement last Monday, I’m sure some of us were wondering if the subsequent lift in volume was due to either an increase in interest or shorters beginning to close their positions.
Well, after a quick check on Shortman, it seems as through very little shorts were covered and the buying was from investors (probably short term looking to ride the wave).

Below are the outstanding shorted shares as at the close of business;

Friday 24^th9,194,505

Monday 27^th9,183,525

Tuesday 28^th9,037,963

This works out as;

Monday 27^th, a net 10,980 shares out of a total of trading of 1,085,159 shares was covered by shorters

Tuesday 28^th, a net of 145,562 shares out of a total volume of shares traded in the day of 1,711,446 shares was covered by shorters

This still leaves a total of 9,037,963 shares left to cover/close.

I find this absolutely fascinating as I do not understand why anyone would continue to short the stock when Phase 3 FDA is just around the corner. I’m also not too sure if we will see this unwind before an announcement as the short positions did not change much before the announcement made on Monday 27^thso why would the shorters close now?

PS: My sentiment is Hold because I have already maxed out on PAR. I have a very large position in this stock (for me) and any more would not make sense as sometimes even a sure thing is not a sure thing. That being said, I am still very bullish on this one.
