I don't live in my BHP, CBA, or FMG shares just to name a few, they're still investments. I also have some growth stocks that don't pay dividends, and they're still called investments.

Investments can be both capital growth or income-producing investments or a bit of both.

Gold is not useless (I don't stack it) but it's used for jewelry, electronics, and in space and medical applications. It's far from useless! Thats just your false belief.

Gold's up 2% in the last year, where I live food's up 12%.
