Absolutely correct. I have just this morning been reading my post from last evening, and saw the clumsiness of my expression. You certainly keep any residual loss not used. These are precious for future use.
My accountant gave me a challenge a few years ago, to try and get rid of my losses (by making sufficient gains, of course). I bought x, y and z and so it took me three years to lessen my losses to almost zero. Then Liontown came roaring along..... now I have a different "problem" one which is very welcome indeed. lol.
