come on SG.... the PHONys are a rabble with only the least intelligent being able to sustain their membership.

back in '99 I was working at Maitland Gaol. the Officers were all lusting after the appeal of Pauline.... and they even agreed with her "policies", such as they were called. these were not very bright people. converting their desire for her person into admiration for her values.

certainly she represents (still) a strong cohort who otherwise have no voice (maybe prison officers should have a Voice too?)..... but her appeal, imo, from my conversations with many prison officers at the time, was largely sexual. and now its only die-hard supporters attached to her party image like barnacles to a rock - hard to shift.
