Too many posters on this topic are thinking with their emotions rather than with objective logic. There is no doubt there is anger amongst mining companies and their shareholders because it effects their bottom line profits, but in reality they are a small minority relative the greater population.
They think that this super tax on miners will anger the majority of Australians into voting against Labor. I believe the opposite is true.
Human nature being what it is will cause most ordinary Australians to take the view that mining profits should not belong to the privileged few, but be shared with every Australian. Labor is on a winner with this one folks.
