Thankyou @salpetie. I assume that red dashed line is outcrop/subcrop? Here's my thinking on the C6 target, from outside the tent and probably outside my lane...

The most obvious feature that jumps put from C6 is the weak magnetic area upper-middle, just below the subcrop dashed line (shown better in RHS image).

C6 is a pyroxene carb intrusion (if carb it is) just like REE's Cummins carb. Cummins below (same scale for both). It's difficult to see on LHS mag-drilling image, but as per old middle FVD mag image, there is a gaping weak-magnetic hole coincident with the Cummins breccia RE deposit. There is magnetite present in the breccia, coarser grained than magnetite in the pyroxene intrusion proper, but not enough to show up at scale compared to the mag intensity of the pyroxene magnetite.

What do you know... Mt Weld has a similar weak magnetic response over it's major RE deposit. Explanations are magnetite destruction from sever laterite weathering (same as Cummins?) and that the primary magnetite is buried deep under thick laterite clays (same as Cummins collapse breccia) and/or that the primary carbonatite intrusion/alteration that hosts the Central deposit is lower magnetite bearing and/or destructive than rest of the carb complex.

DRE mentioned the association between magnetic features and rare earths in the last C3 results release, and C3 does have remnant magnetite bearing clays associated with the supergene mineralisation. From where I sit, the whole C6 is primary magnetic, but the best looking spot to find a RE deposit is the weak magnetic area just above the planned drill fences.

If a deposit turns up in the weak mag area as I think looks most prospective... remember you heard it here first biggrin.png
