As always with these cases the focus is on the end result rather than why the indigenous person was in the position that their death occurred.
It's quite simple don't do the crime & you won't end up being served an arrest warrant or end up in custody.
It's the White Man blame culture over & over again rather than taking responsibility for indigenous actions.
Stop blaming the troubles of Indigenous on the actions of White Men from over 200 years ago.
indigenous people have the same rights & opportunities as anyone in Australia in fact they have more.
The simple fact that the vast majority of indigenous people (especially in regional & remote areas) lack the motivation & culture to succeed in the modern world.
It doesn't matter how much money you throw at the problem or how many 'voices' you give the indigenous people they will never be independent, self sufficient & thus self governing without a change in culture.
A change in culture away from welfare dependency.
No amount of help from 'White Men' will ever resolve Indigenous issues until Indigenous people themselves change.
At the moment they don't even want to change to become members of modern society.

The proof in the matter is shown in indigenous people who live in urban areas who have jobs, houses & mortgages. They don't need government support because they are self sufficient members of modern society.

Unfortunately the social existence in regional & remote regions that indigenous people want is mutually exclusive to the modern world without permanent & unending dependency on government welfare where autonomy & self determination will never exist.

We are told what was done in the past hasn't reduced or removed the 'gap'. But again the emphasis is all on the 'White Man' for his failure not on the actions or lack of action by indigenous people.
School attendancy rates are a perfect example of indigenous failure.

The focus needs to be turned back on indigenous people & stop the blame culture on historical 'White Men'
