Normal customers could never hope to design or build the levels of scalability, reliability and efficiency into their own building. Now think about all these NEXTDC customers, many of which are vast companies with an enormous amount of equipment. NEXTDC makes it super easy for all these customers to connect with each other to sell or consume services between them, at super high speeds, total reliability and avoiding external carrier costs. Cloud providers need NEXTDC as this means they only need to focus on their own computer equipment and can leave NEXTDC to run the locations, buildings and supporting infrastructure. The cloud providers can quickly set up a "presence" in any major city, taking as much space as they need and adding to the space as their own needs change. Enterprise customers need NEXTDC as it brings reliability and efficiencies to how their computer equipment is operated AND they can easily connect into the cloud providers to consume those services, at very high speeds, and not needing to even leave the building. Carrier providers need NEXTDC so that they have a presence in the building and can sell their services to customers and cloud providers who want external connectivity. As end users we need NEXTDC to support all of the services that we consume from all of the NEXTDC customers, such as watching Netflix, finance/banking, basically anything you do on the Internet, using an app on your home computer, mobile phone etc etc. There is a lot more too, businesses that locate their computer equipment into a NEXTDC data centre can reduce the size of the building they need to operate their business from, and change locations as required without worrying about how such moves affect their computing 24x7. I have failed to mention at least 100 other very important items, but hope that this was useful for those who weren't otherwise aware.
